When a research sketch becomes a final project.

A year ago, to present the poster for the 20km of Lausanne, the city's sports department asked me to produce a limited edition to give to all the event's partners.

I had this drawing lying dormant in my notebooks. It was the idea of the final poster, but much simpler in form and with my pilot.

I like to work with chance and colour, and I like clients who are open to these ideas... Always in the search for economy of means, I wanted to create a two-colour screen-printed illustration which, by transparency, brings in a third: a warm yellow fluorescent with a sky blue which gives a green whose shade I didn't know before I printed it.

The warm fluorescent yellow (yes, it's not easy to show that on a screen) over the blue gave a very interesting bright green, especially when printed by Colormakerz, the king of colours. The little offsets, details of which are shown in the following images, are what Jo loves about this interesting process and it makes the whole thing vibrate.

The edition of 120 copies, numbered, signed and not available for sale, is a research drawing, printed on Arche Chiffon 300g A4 paper, 2023.
